Buying FAQ

How do I bid?

After you have registered as a buyer, you will follow this process in order to place a bid:

  2. Select the product listing you want to bid on.
  3. Click on the "Listing Title" to view the detailed information about the product, including the seller's terms of sale.
  4. Enter a total bid amount.
  5. If the seller has opted to consider bid terms for the listing, enter any terms associated with your bid in the Bid Terms field. Bid terms may not conflict with or be deemed to modify Prorecovery USA Terms and Conditions agreement.

How do I search for an item?

Use the Search box under the main navigation bar at the top of the page.  Enter the item you would like to find and hit your "Enter" key or click on the "Search" button.  You can also browse for products by categories on the main navigation bar.

How do I view a listing?

To view a listing in detail, click on the title of the listing or its corresponding picture.

How will I know if I am outbid?

If you are not the high bidder, you will receive an outbid e-mail.  You will be notified of your bid rank, as well as your place and rank in the auction. In addition, we have a 48-hour funding policy and if the high bidder does not pay for the auction item within our timeframe, we may be in touch with you about purchasing the equipment, if you were the next highest bidder.

I was bidding on an auction that closed. What did it sell for?

The winning bid amount is not published. The place and rank you see during bidding are meant to serve as bid information for you.  If your rank was 15-20, the high bid was likely well above your highest bid.  If your rank was 2-4, you were likely close to the eventual high bid.

I've won the auction listing. What happens now?

Once a winning bid is selected (either automatically or by the seller), the bidder will be notified via e-mail and receive an invoice.

Who are your buyer members?

Buyers of our auctions items include domestic and international product end-users, brokers, re-manufacturers, used equipment buyers, distributors, and purchasing managers.

Who are your current sellers of auction items?

We receive auction listings from property and casualty insurance companies, marine insurance companies, inland marine insurance companies, shipping lines, railroads, trucking companies, retail distributors, manufacturers, and corporations.

    Buyer Default Penalty

If the winning bidder for an auction fails to fund the purchase price, this defaulting bidder will be barred from placing bids on any future auctions. Both our buyer and seller community are frustrated by the small minority of defaulting bidders, and expect there to be a consequence.  Prorecovery USA reserves the right to use a collection agency to collect any outstanding penalties.
